These terms and conditions apply to your use of the Shutter Smith website and to any quote, order, or installation service you engage Shutter Smith to provide. By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Quotes and pricing

Quotes provided by Shutter Smith are free and obligation-free, based on the information and measurements available at the time of quoting. Final pricing is confirmed once measurements and product selections are finalised. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless stated otherwise.

2. Deposits and payment

To confirm an order, we require a 50% deposit at the time of order confirmation, with the balance due on or before the day of installation. We accept payment by direct bank transfer (EFT) or credit/debit card. Your deposit secures your place in our production schedule and is required before we order materials or commence manufacturing.

3. Measurement and installation

We provide a free in-home measure and quote service. Installation timeframes are estimates and may vary due to factors outside our control, including manufacturing lead times, weather, and site access. We will communicate any expected delays as soon as we become aware of them.

4. Product warranty

Our products carry a 20-year warranty on all Australian-made products, covering manufacturing defects under normal use. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, normal wear and tear, or unauthorised modification. For a warranty claim, contact us using the details below.

5. Cancellations and changes

You may cancel or amend your order free of charge within 48 hours of order confirmation. After this cooling-off period, once your order has been placed with our supplier for manufacturing, your deposit is non-refundable and the order cannot be cancelled, as blinds, plantation shutters and awnings are custom-made to your measurements and cannot be resold. If you need to reschedule your installation date, contact us as early as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate a new date.

6. Website use

Content on this website (text, images, and design) is owned by or licensed to Shutter Smith and may not be reproduced without permission. We make reasonable efforts to keep information on this website accurate and up to date but do not guarantee it is free of errors. Product photography may vary slightly from delivered products due to natural material variation (e.g. timber grain, colour).

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Shutter Smith's liability for any claim arising from our products or services is limited to the resupply, repair, or refund of the relevant product or service. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
